For years I did needlepoint and knitting. Sometimes I still do. These were mostly solitary endeavours. When I begain to do patchwork quilting I discovered the unique camaraderie that accompanies this needle art. Women have found themselves sharing their stories around a quilting frame for centuries. I think this is the original "self-help" therapy group. I have certainly found this companionship in my work with the incredibly generous artist Kaffe Fassett, since we began collaborating on our book, Glorious Patchwork. We invite you to join us in using the Kaffe Fassett Striped Fabrics and the Glorious Patchwork Fabric Collection to make the designs within these pages for yourself. And if you ever want to sing badly out loud with a friend while stitching, I can assure you it is a joyous experience!
