Barnett's Laptop Hoops

Like most kids, when I was young summer was my favorite season.  It meant school vacation, long days at the beach or the pool, riding bikes to the corner store for ice cream, or just playing outside with friends.  There were lots of kids in my neighborhood, so each household had a cowbell by the back door that the moms used to announce that it was time to come home for supper.  Each one had a distinctive sound and number of rings.  It was disappointing to have to stop the fun and games, but most days we were allowed to go back outside to play until dark.  There was such a feeling of freedom and joy!  As an adult, I have more appreciation for all of the seasons.  However, when I'm choosing beautiful fabrics and creating beautiful quilts, I can't help but recall that same feeling of excitement and joy that I associate with the summers of my youth.  And there ar e no cowbells to make me stop sewing!
